Slovenia: Visit the country after your ferry crossing

Ljubljana, the capital, is a picturesque city with medieval and baroque charm. Visitors can admire the colourful buildings in the city centre, stroll along the banks of the Ljubljanica River, visit the Ljubljana Fortress, as well as the central market and the Dragon Bridge.

Lake Bled is one of the most popular places in Slovenia. Travellers can take a boat trip to the island of Bled, with its chapel and bell tower, or climb to Bled Castle for a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding mountains.

The Triglav National Park is a popular hiking destination, with its beautiful mountains, valleys and mountain lakes. Visitors can also go rafting on the Soca River or cycling on the Alpe-Adria cycle path.

Slovenia: When is the best time to travel?

If you love winter sports and snow-covered landscapes, the best time to visit Slovenia is undoubtedly in winter, from December to February. Temperatures are cold, with an average of -2°C in December and -5°C in January, but they are perfect for fans of skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. Slovenia's mountains offer superb ski resorts, such as Kranjska Gora and Vogel, where you can enjoy well-groomed slopes and breathtaking views.

If you prefer milder temperatures and nature coming to life, spring, from April to June, is an ideal time. Temperatures rise gradually, from an average of 11°C in April to 20°C in June. Flowers start to bloom, national parks reveal their greenery, and outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling become very popular.
